Mom Shares Touching Photos Of Her Premature Baby's Goodbye Hug For Her Dying Twin Sister

This will break your heart in ways you can't imagine.

Amy Campbell gave birth to twin baby girls, Charlotte and Esme, both of whom were born prematurely. The babies were born at just 26 weeks on July 10, 2016. But their heartbreaking story has just been revealed.

The twins battled for weeks to survive. Ultimately, the doctors told Amy that Esme would have no quality of life since her brain was filled with fluid. It was the most difficult decision of Amy and her husband, Conor's life. They decided to switch off Esme's life support.

But just a few days before Esme passed, her twin sister Charlotte gave her a 'goodbye hug' - a gesture that has broken and warmed thousands of hearts around the world.

It was the parents' desire for their daughters to 'meet' before Esme passed away. They asked the nurses of Leeds General Infirmary for help so that Amy could hold her girls at the same time.

And that's when Charlotte reached out to Esme and put her arm around her sister.

Esme passed away the following day, in her mother's arms 12 hours later.

Charlotte, on the other hand, is 22 months old now and doing just fine. The brave parents, in an extraordinary gesture, have raised more than £10,000 till date as a way of showing gratitude to the hospital for all their support.
