Caught on camera: Caregiver urinates in elderly couple's cups

A caregiver has been jailed for urinating into teacups of an elderly couple he was looking after.

According to a report by the Mirror, the caregiver was caught in the act on a secret camera fitted by the police - who were investigating claims that the caregiver was stealing from the pensioners.

The footage shows the 25-year-old urinating into the sink and into cups before serving tea to the couple.

Mr Ward said cameras were installed after £900 went missing on different occasions.

He was also seen stealing from the couple. He used to put on latex gloves before getting on his hands and knees to search a storeroom where their cash was kept, leaving the room with the money.

The incident took place in March this year.

According to the prosecutor, the couple, who live in England's Netherton, both suffer from health problems and received visits from carers three times per day.

Police had installed cameras after money totalling £900 went missing, instead they also discovered this 'perverted' act.

He continued to deny doing anything wrong even after being confronted with the video evidence.

Scarth eventually pleaded guilty to theft and has been jailed for eight months.

He has also been sacked from his job.

The couple and the family are reportedly devastated by this 'despicable' act and now find it difficult to trust caregivers who came into their home.

Here are some of the reactions on Twitter on this viral story:

This is not the first time such a case has been reported:

Earlier this year, a housemaid, who allegedly poured urine in the food of her employer, was charged with endangering people's lives.

The complainant, an Emirati lawyer, said the family had appointed the maid three months ago. She said she got sick after consuming food from her home. According to doctors, she had bacterial infection after consuming the food.

In another case, According to a Dailymail report, in a rather 'sour' revenge, a woman in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh kept urinating in the tea she was serving to her in-laws for over a year.

She was caught red-handed (or rather yellow-handed) when her mother-in-law walked into the kitchen and found her urinating over the teapot.
