Coronavirus LIVE updates: Boris Johnson goes for a run before first official appearance in a week

The UK's Prime Minister has emerged after almost a week out of the spotlight.

The whereabouts of Boris Johnson have been a hot topic in recent days, with #WhereIsJohnson trending on Twitter.

Today - a week after he faced Keir Starmer in PMQs for the first time - he reappeared to go on a run.

Mr Johnson has led the daily Downing Street press conference just twice since he returned to work on April 26.

Yesterday, the total number of deaths across the UK since the pandemic topped 35,000.

The latest figures show an increase by 545 across hospitals and care homes - the largest in a week, however the death toll continues to trend downward overall.

Meanwhile, charity fundraiser and WWII hero Captain Tom Moore will be given a knighthood, Downing Street announced last night.
