Europe Is So Hot Right Now Even The Temperature Map Looks Like It’s Screaming

Once again the weather is breaking records across the board this year, as temperatures throughout Europe soar.

Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands are currently experiencing extremely high temperatures, hitting 40°C and above.

On Wednesday this week, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic recorded their highest temperatures ever for June.

In fact, the temperature is so high, even the map looks like it’s screaming.

Check it out:

Ruben Hallali, a meteorologist at the Paris-Saclay University, tweeted the image, noting the similarities to Edvard Munch’s painting ‘The Scream’ from 1893.

He said, via Liberation:

It’s amazing to have temperatures as high as 1,500 meters above sea level. This will translate to record-breaking records for the month of June and probably all months together.

Speaking about the eerie image itself, Ruben told CNN:

By chance, it just happened to be possible to imagine a special form of a skull in this map. There are so many maps created on our site for each updated forecast that it is statistically possible for some to look like something.

Nevertheless, he described the image as ‘remarkable’, as temperatures are uncommonly high for huge areas of Europe right now.

As well as France, Spain is set to experience the highest temperatures in Europe this week, with temperatures expecting to hit 45°C.

It’s not just the maps that have been going crazy in the heat.

In Berlin, a bicycle apparently melted on the pavement because of the heat:

While police had to be called to a local swimming pool when the crowds trying to get in got too much:

Stay cool, everyone.
