7 Home remedies that can help stop hair-fall naturally

Ayurveda is a well-known system of medicine which is essential in solving many types of sickness. As a matter of fact, this Indian system can provide answers on how to protect your hair from too much hair fall and even baldness, using various herbs that’re suited for the job.

How our hair grows depends on the process of bone tissue formation. A poor metabolism of such can lead to a poor hair health. As said in Ayurveda, what’s responsible for the health of our hair is the Pitta dosha which, if exceeds is supposedly amount, can lead to problems concerning the hair. In this medicinal system, hair problem is categorized into three types. The first one is khalitya which is the common problem of hair fall; next is the premature graying of the hair that is cclled palitya by the Indians; and lastly, the indralupta or the severe hair loss called alopecia areata and totalis.

The ancient system of Indian medicine prescribes many herbs in order to counter these types of hair problems. To name a few, there are Kayyonyadi tailam and Neelibhringadi tailim, different Indian herbs like bhringaraj, guduchi, and amalaki, whose oils are very suited to treat hair loss and prevent dandruff.

Aloe Vera Liliaceae is also being recommended by Ayurveda. As many have already know, this herb can make our hair strong and healthy that’s why it is commonly being added to the formula of many shampoo brands. But aside from that, the aloenin in aloe vera can also help stop hair fall and even prevent severe cases such as alopecia.

Lecithin is a substance found in some plants that helps to make the hair grow healthy, and fenugreek seeds is among these herbs. By maintaining the nourishment in the scalp that is being carried through a good flow of blood circulation, a healthy hair growth is ensured. Dandruff is something that you should worry about anymore because it can also be solved through the use of a paste made from fenugreek seeds.

Another herb that was advised by Ayurveda to treat hair problems is henna whose leaves are able to regulate the amount of pitta dosha in the body. As mentioned earlier, excessive amount of pitta is what’s responsible for such problems, hence henna is very beneficial in this matter. But if you’re not convinced yet then ask the Egyptians and they’ll tell you they used henna to control hair loss. And not only that, this herb makes the hair look good and free from dandruff as well.

Aside from henna, Indian gooseberry can also decrease the level of pita in the body to its right amount. This sweet tasting fruit can be made into a hair ointment by boiling the dried fruit together with coconut oil, which can then be used to prevent the premature greying of hair. Eating Indian gooseberry is also advisable especially to elderlies or people who are suffering from hair loss.

Not only the ancient system Ayurveda, but recent researches have also validated that bitter apple is capable of treating sudden hair loss because of too much pitta in the body. If in the past, its seeds have already been used to treat even other hair problems such as the greying of hair, then in the modern scene, it was justified that an ointment made with bitter apple extract helps in curing baldness, especially in the case of men.

Bhringaraj’s worth as an herb capable of treating hair problems was also proven by recent studies. It was proven that aside from making the hair look good and healthy, it also makes the hair grow thicker by increasing the hair follicles on areas where there are few.

Along with bitter apple and bhringaraj, hibiscus is another herb that can treat hair loss by switching the hair follicles in areas where there are only little amount, hence resulting to a good hair growth. The good thing is that this herb isn’t just recommended by Ayurveda, but scientifically justified as well. Researchers have commended the flowers and leaves of hibiscus because they are responsible for the herb’s special abilities to cure hair problems.

But of course, instead of treating hair problems, we’d rather not have any of these in the first place. So to prevent having hair loss, premature greying of hair, or alopecia, just try to eat a healthy and balanced diet to regulate your body’s amount of pita. It is also important to know what cause the pita level to rise and such includes drinking alcohol, eating spicy and salty foods, and having dehydrated vegetables. The weather and your temper can also affect your pitta dosha so in a hot weather, try to keep your mind and body cool.
