Dubai Health Achieves International Recognition
Dubai Health has become the first integrated academic health system in the UAE to receive enterprise accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI). The recognition reflects its commitment to maintaining high standards across healthcare services, academic operations and institutional management. The assessment examined how the organisation manages quality, patient safety and continuous improvement. The achievement further strengthens Dubai’s position as a regional centre for advanced healthcare and medical education.
Assessment Records High Compliance Rates
The accreditation process included a detailed review of Dubai Health’s central administrative functions against 149 standards, with the organisation achieving 100 per cent compliance. Its medical education and hospital operations recorded a 99.7 per cent compliance rate across 1,170 standards. The evaluation covered governance, leadership, performance improvement and coordination across the health system. It also assessed patient-centred care, clinical safety, medical education and professional training.
Five Dubai Hospitals Receive Accreditation
The milestone also marks the first time that five Dubai Health hospitals underwent the JCI Academic Medical Center accreditation assessment simultaneously. Rashid Hospital, Dubai Hospital, Hatta Hospital, Latifa Hospital and Al Jalila Children’s Hospital all achieved accreditation. These facilities had already received JCI recognition in previous years, making the latest achievement an important continuation of their quality and safety efforts. The coordinated assessment highlights the integration of clinical services and medical education across the organisation.
Focus on Patient Safety and Better Healthcare
JCI accreditation is internationally recognised as a benchmark for healthcare quality and patient safety. Its standards help healthcare organisations assess their practices, improve consistency and strengthen patient care. Dubai Health’s leadership said the recognition supports its commitment to continuous improvement and better patient experiences. By connecting healthcare delivery with medical education and professional development, the organisation aims to strengthen clinical practices and contribute to improved outcomes for communities across Dubai and the wider UAE.
