Coronavirus: Situation in Qatar Stable As Patients Recover

In a press conference for organised by the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, PM of Qatar Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, gave an update on the situation of Qatar and how the country is slowly becoming stable. 

She revealed that six new cases of COVID-19 are in the process to be cured,further saying that eight new cases were registered. She further said that most of them are expatriate workers and two Qatari citizens returning from the Italian Republic and the United Kingdom.

Her Excellency further stated that the new cases are quarantined at the moment with the six cases, who are in intensive care, wishing them a speedy recovery. She further clarified that the government has followed the pattern in which the virus spead across the country.

“From what we found in the State of Qatar, there are two main patterns so far for the spread of COVID-19, which are: The first chain of transmission was between arrivals, and it is called societal infections, and it turned out that its focus was in the area that was closed from Street 1 to 32 in the industrial area" Her Excellency stated. 

"The second chain of transmission, which exists between Qataris and is not considered to be societal infections in most of them, but rather by the returning citizens from some countries, especially European ones and have been subjected to the quarantine" she stated stressing the second reason. 

Her Excellency also said that the health authorities in Qatar are constantly trying to track the way the virus is spreading across the country and working on the methods to limit the damage. 
  
She concluded by saying that the quarantined people need intensive care with people aging 60 and above who have chronic disease or are in critical condition need regular assessment by doctors.

She further suggested people subjected to house isolation at the moment must not come in direct contact with family members atleast for 14 days and stay in an isolated position only.
