1 Arsenic

This poison has been used a lot of times in history. It is a classic and known as ‘the king of poisons’. In the old days, it was easy to get hold of and was very common ingredient in the house hold used in paints which caused accidental poisoning. When it was discovered that arsenic is the source of poisoning, it became the first choice to kill people because of its long term effect and eventual death.

 

It has no color, and no taste so it was used many times over the centuries. If taken in high quantity it causes vomiting, abdominal cramps and finally death. Few famous people who died due to arsenic poisoning are Napoleon Bonaparte and King George III of Britain. It is still present in some parts of the world and considered when killing people. Its effects include skin rash, diarrhea and bleeding with a lot of pain. The symptoms occur within a few hours of ingestion.
