9. They Mix Business With Pleasure
Using political fame for business is a big no-no when your father is the new president elect. So it was no surprise that Ivanka caused a frenzy when a ‘media alert’ was sent to fashion journalists about the $13,000 gold bracelet Ivanka wore during the 60 Minutes programme. Was it a just bad timing or bad business? No one will really know. How many of those bracelets were sold post the media alert? The number wasn’t disclosed. Regardless, she has been accused of using her father’s new political status for her own financial gain and those rumours are here to stay. When you have an empire as big as the Trump family’s you’re bound to get stuck in muddy waters mixing business and pleasure. This is especially true now that Ivanka has been named as one of Trump’s transition advisors. You can’t undo what’s done but with the election still a sensitive topic amongst many, any controversy is best avoided.
