Five Filipinos made it to this year's Forbes "30 Under 30 Asia" list, joining the "brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers" in the region.

The youngest Filipino on the list is 21-year-old Shahab Shabibi, co-founder of Machine Ventures.

Carl Ocab, 23, founder of Carl Ocab Internet Marketing Services, and Gian Scottie Javelona, 24, founder of OrangeApps, also made it to the list.

SkyEye Analytics founder Matthew Cua, 28, and Growthsolutions Inc. co-founder and COO Maricor Bunal, 29, complete the Filipinos on the Forbes list.

"This year’s Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list highlights the diversity of talent in this vast region, with 300 impressive young entrepreneurs from all walks of life pushing the boundaries of innovation," Forbes Media Asia Senior Digital Editor Rana Wehbe said.

"It’s fascinating to see how these millennials are using technology to disrupt their industries, empower their communities and overcome cultural barriers," Wehbe said.

According to Forbes, over a dozen reporters in the region worked to research and come up with thousands of nominations covering all fields.

Among the judges for this year’s list are shoe designer Jimmy Choo, chef George Calombaris, rugby player Sonny Bill Williams and Malaysian singer and songwriter Yuna.

The judges also include Hiroshi Mikitani of Rakuten, Misfit founder Sonny Vu, Didi Chuxing’s CEO Jean Liu, Indian philanthropist Vineet Nayar and Solina Chau, Director of Li Ka-Shing Foundation, and Kaifu Lee.
