Akshay Kumar's Film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ Crosses The 50 Crore Mark On The 3rd Day

After underwhelming collections from ‘Tubelight’ and ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, the box office was in dire need of a blockbuster opening from Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ and it certainly didn’t disappoint as it collected Rs. 51.45 crores on the opening weekend, as reported by Taran Adarsh, an industry expert and critic.

The film collected Rs. 13.10 crores on Friday adding another 17 crores on Saturday and maintaining its momentum on Sunday with Rs. 21 crores.

Collections are expected to receive a boost on account of Independence Day which is on Tuesday. Akshay Kumar’s previous movie Jolly LLB 2 was beaten by a crore and it has also beaten Jab Harry Met Sejal’s opening weekend collections of Rs. 45 crores.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is centred around Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swacch Bharath Campaign and it brings to light the need for improvement in sanitation facilities in rural India.
