Four Ways To Break Routine And Become More Spontaneous

Having a professional and personal plan is important. However, sticking too much to the plan and following a routine scrupulously can make you a boring person. For instance, some people wake up at the same time every day, go to work, come back, run errands and hit the bed, the same time. They don't want to change anything of their every day routine. Well, it is very important to break the routine sometimes, go out and explore the world. Nobody likes conversing with a stick in the mud.

Being spontaneous is crucial for your personal and professional growth . While there is nothing blatantly wrong in having a to-do list and completing the tasks, it is important to ensure that it doesn't mess up your spontaneity. Here are few things you should do to become more spontaneous.

1.Get out of your comfort zone

Meet new people every now and then and say yes to new opportunities. That way you will be confident in front of strangers. You can decide and rehearse beforehand about the topics you would want to discuss. You can do a bit of research about people around you and start with topics that might interest them. You can even consider a compliment. Compliment always helps in starting a conversation. Such efforts will surely make you change your approach and become more spontaneous.

2.Work on your sense of humour

What clicks in any social gathering is the ability to share jokes and make people have a hearty laugh. If you throw in one good joke, you will find people coming up to you on their own to strike a conversation. In fact, most people want to date someone with a great sense of humour. It tops any other qualities, like looks, money, they look for in their partner. And, people who cannot throw a joke ever are considered boring. Sometimes it is important in life to stop what you are doing and relax, so that you too can come up with good jokes to share with.

3.Bring out the child in you

Whenever possible, just do something without planning much. For instance, go for a late night dessert on a week day. Or, try sun-gazing, which is an old method of healing. Open your heart and feel it. Allow it to permeate your being. Or just play with kids. There is nothing more joyful than watching kids play or actually becoming a child and take part in their games. So, get the child in you out on and off and feel the positivity it brings along.

4.Tweak your routine chores a bit

If you cannot afford to bring too many changes, just tweak your routine. For instance, take a different route on your morning walk. Or instead of driving to work, take public transport. Inform your manager and work out of a coffee shop for few hours. Break the monotony in whatever way you can. This will make you become more spontaneous.
