Syrian children and Twitter users around the world are posting pictures this week in solidarity with a two-month-old baby who reportedly lost his left eye after a regime air strike on the besieged Damascus suburb of Eastern Ghouta last Friday.
In the images, the children are seen covering their left eye, with an image of the baby – reportedly named Karim – also being shared.

“Karim lost his eye and had his skull broken by Assad regime shelling on his home in Eastern Ghouta. His mother was also killed by the same attack,” independent Syrian journalist Hadi AlAbdullah posted on Twitter.
