Sachin: A Billion Dreams

Sachin Tendulkar Film 'Sachin - A Billion Dreams' Trailer Mentions Fixing Saga

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s film 'Sachin - A Billion Dreams' will hit the screens on May 26, 2017.

During the trailer launch, in a packed Juhu auditorium, Tendulkar said working on the film 'Sachin - A Billion Dreams' helped him "relive important moments" of his cricketing life.

Sachin spoke on many things about the film at the launch, and the trailer itself reveals a bit about what is in store.

The film will of course talk about a schoolboy's entry into the big world of international cricket, and about how he went about conquering record after record. It will talk about the ebb and rise of Indian cricket in the nineties and the aughts. But noticeably, it will touch upon one of the darkest sagas in Indian cricket - the match-fixing saga at the beginning of this millennium.

How much light it will shed on the dark episode is still not known. The trailer shows enraged fans pelting stones and burning effigies of Indian cricketers, while Tendulkar's voice is heard in the background saying: "It was cricket’s worst period. As a sportsman, you should learn to get back on your feet and start competing again."

Throughout his career Sachin always remained a private person, keeping his feelings to himself. " I remain a private person but realised that there is much I have not revealed or spoken about, to those who have been instrumental to my life and career, especially my fans," Tendulkar said.

"I hope the film will be yet another avenue for fans who have showered their love and blessings on me, to cherish the journey that we undertook together for over 24 years," he said.
