If you recently recovered from a kidney transplant that was donated by your best friend, besides giving her a great big hug and saying things like “words cannot describe how thankful I am,” what do you do next? If you are Selena Gomez, you go to a boxing training match to have a workout.

Gomez went for a training session at the Rumble Gym in New York with her personal trainer Noah D. Neiman, and also attended Joe Ferraro’s boxing class. Neiman was ecstatic about her workout, noting that she came in and worked hard, he even used her as an example for others.

IBTimes reported that Gomez was not so enthusiastic about her performance and promised on a subsequent visit to bring her “A” game. Her trainer said she was great, especially for a person just a few weeks out of recovery from a major surgery.

Gomez was wearing a terrific gym outfit made by Puma, as she is now the official spokesperson as a “Puma Partner” for the brand.

We are so happy to see how quickly and magnificently Gomez recovered from her kidney transplant surgery.  Without proper kidney function, a person has to go through lifelong dialysis, which is where they hook you up to a machine that cleans your blood twice each week for many hours. That is a real bummer. However, thanks to the generosity of Gomez’s BFF, actress Francia Raisa, she is back on her feet, better than ever.

Francia Raisa stars in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. Selena and her mom, Mandy Teefey (previously Cornett), are the executive producers of the series.

Gomez was in New York filming a yet-to-be-named movie for director Woody Allen. She looks terrific, is in a great mood, and is taking really excellent care of herself. She is an inspiration to us all and especially for others that have challenging illnesses that they are dealing with, including many young women who have lupus.
