9 hilarious reactions to Saad Hariri's return to Lebanon

On Tuesday, Lebanese PM Saad Hariri made his way back to Beirut for the first time since his shock resignation in Saudi Arabia on Nov. 4.

One day after his arrival to Lebanon, Hariri suspended his resignation from government at the request of President Michel Aoun who asked the prime minister to "put it on hold."

"Today I presented my resignation to his excellency the president, and he asked me to temporarily suspend submitting it and to put it on hold ahead of further consultations on the reasons for it," said Hariri after meeting the president at the Baabda presidential palace, according to BBC.

Hariri's resignation in Riyadh caused a political stir across the entire region, raising speculations that he was being forcibly held in the kingdom.

In a televised interview with Future TV's Paula Yacoubian, the prime minister tried to set the record straight, reiterating that the decision was his own.

However, his statement did nothing to settle the hearts of conspiracy theorists at the time. Now that he's back, hearts are settled, but humor is taking the front seat.
