Police are looking for an unidentified masked man for using pepper powder to rob valuables from apartments, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added, this came to light when an unidentified 42-year-old Indian woman living in Plot 4 in Mangaf filed a complaint with the Mangaf Police Station accusing an unidentified person of spraying pepper powder in her face which blinded her momentarily and as she fell to the ground she got injured on the forehead and abrasion on the left arm.
The victim said the man pulled a gold chain from her neck on his way out and she also discovered later the suspect had escaped with money and jewelry from her apartment.
A police source pointed out that the preliminary investigations indicated the masked man has committed several thefts in apartments inhabited by expatriates in the area in the same way.
