Police have taken into custody an unidentified Asian maid for stealing the gold necklace of a four-year-old Kuwaiti toddler, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added, the incident happened in the play area of a shopping mall in Sabah Al-Salem. The suspect lured the victim to a corner in the belief that part of the play area was outside the coverage of CCTV camera and robbed her necklace.
However, when the parents of the toddler discovered the theft they requested the mall management to view the CCTV footage and saw the maid removing the necklace taking advantage of the age.
The parents then handed over the footage to the police, the maid’s residence was identified and she was taken into custody.
The security source has warned mothers not to leave their children alone and rely on the servants to watch over them, especially if they wear gold jewelry.
