Expats in Kuwait continue to stay in hospitals even after care

Ministry of Health has adopted a mechanism to tackle the problem of expatriates who continue to stay in hospitals even after doctors give them permission to leave, reports Al- Anba daily.

This method includes preparing reports concerning these patients and referred them to the department of social service and public relations in the hospital where the patients stay.

After that, their embassies will be contacted to expedite the removal of these patients from the hospital, and necessary legal action will be taken in coordination with Ministry of Interior.

This move came after an increased number of complaints and reports were received recently concerning non-Kuwaiti patients who refuse to leave hospitals after completing necessary treatment.

This phenomenon has contributed to the shortage of beds in hospitals for patients suffering from serious medical conditions.
