Expats in Kuwait declined by 30,000

The number of expatriates in Kuwait has declined by 30,000 in the last four days, reports Al-Rai daily. According to a reliable source from Public Institution for Social Security, statistics concerning the population of Kuwait that are published on the website of Public Institution for Social Security are updated on a monthly basis with the cooperation of Ministry of Interior.

Ministry of Interior provides the institution with the number of expatriates who canceled their residence permits or obtained new residence permits, in order to update these statistics. The source revealed that the number of Kuwaitis reached 1,412,264 as of end of last week, constituting 29.7 percent of the population of Kuwait, and the number of expatriates has reached 3,333,029, constituting 70.3 percent of the population.
