Fine of QR 12,000 for insulting a nurse

The Civil Court of Appeals (9th Circuit) upheld the verdict of a lower court and ordered a Kuwaiti woman to pay 1,000 dinars to a nurse for insulting her, reports Al-Rai daily.

This happened when the woman wanted to take her son home from a hospital ward without doctor’s permission. Following the incident the nurse filed a complaint and the case went to the Court of Misdemeanors and the woman was fined KD 100 for insulting the nurse.

However, when the case was referred to the competent court, the court fined her KD 1,000 citing moral damage.
