A STRONG earthquake has struck in Iran, rattling the country's Bushehr nuclear plant as well as parts of Bahrain and Qatar.
The 5.8 earthquake struck in the south of Iran at 7.34am BST, earthquake trackers EMSC-CSEM said.
The Iran earthquake struck near the country's only nuclear power plant in Bushehr.
Bushehr Nuclear Power officials have not yet reported any damage but the earthquake has raised concerns about safety stands in the Islamic Republic.
The earthquake was also felt in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
No injuries are expected because the epicentre of the earthquake was located in a sparsely located area, the Iran Red Cross said.
Bahrain did evacauate startled residents and workers from high-rise buildings.
