Nearly 500 expat workers deported in a week

An aggregate of 442 expats were captured for violating the Labor Law and another 490 deported in one week, Oman's Ministry of Manpower reported. 

The Ministry discharged its week after week pointers of expatriate workers who were captured through joint activities. The workers were captured between January 11 and 19, 2011. 

Of the complete captured, 241 had left their employments, 31 were freelance workers, and 31 of them were undocumented. Muscat, the capital, recorded the most astounding number of captures with 144, followed by A'Sharqiyah governorate with 59. 

 

The competent authorities at the Ministry of Manpower are at present making the suitable legitimate move against the laborers. 

Amid that week, 490 abusing workers were extradited for "violating the arrangements of the Labor Law," the service said.
