Qatar’s Criminal Investigation Department has arrested a man accused of duping nearly QR200,000 from various people by offering to turn their cash into dollars.
The CID said the accused was an African national and that a search of his place of residence yielded a locker containing some counterfeit papers, chemicals, dollar bills and riyal notes.
The department has called on the public to be on the watch for such tricks employed by fraudsters.
