Oman Police arrests two for eating publicly in Ramadan

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested two people for eating publicly during the holy month of Ramadan.

A source at the ROP said, " The Muscat police command arrested the accused after they published a video clip on social media showing them violating the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan."

According to article 277 of the Omani Penal Code, anyone that is seen eating or drinking in a public place during Ramadan can face a prisons sentence of up to three months and no less than 10 days.
