Qatar Amir orders QR73 mn support for Somalia

The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani and Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on Wednesday discussed strong bilateral relations between the two countries and the ways to further boost and develop them in various fields.

During the session of talks at the Amiri Diwan, the latest developments in Somalia were reviewed. The Amir issued a directive to support the Somali government budget for 2019 with QR73 million.

The discussions covered a number of regional and international issues of common interest. 

The talks were attended by a number of ministers.

From the Somali side, the discussions were attended by the members of the official delegation accompanying the president.

 

Qatar has strong ties with Somalia, which is a reflection of the relations inherent in the two countries’ common history. The mutual visits of senior officials of the two countries have strengthened these ties.

Relations between the two countries are based on a combination of common ties, foundations, interests, aspirations and objectives.
