It is always better to carefully plan your visit to government and other offices during the holy month of Ramadan. This is because during the holy month, all offices will operate shorter working hours.
Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi today issued a circular specifying the working hours during the holy month of Ramadan for ministries, government agencies and public bodies and institutions.
The circular stated that on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan in 1440 AH, it has been decided that the official working hours during the holy month for civil servants will be five hours a day, starting from 9 am to 2 pm.
Meanwhile, according to labour law, the working time for private sector employees will be six hours a day and a total of 36 hours per week.
Oman:
Oman announced the working hours for public and private sector employees during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Ramadan working hours start at 9am in the public sector while it should not exceed six hours for Muslims working in the private sector.
In a statement issued online, Oman News Agency said: “The official working hours for ministries, public authorities and other units of the administrative apparatus of the State during the holy month of Ramadan 1440H is from 9 am to 2 pm."
"The maximum number of working hours during the holy month of Ramadan in private establishments for Muslim workers is 6 hours per day, 30 hours a week."
