In one of their biggest drug hauls, the Abu Dhabi Police have seized 423kg of heroin and crystal meth hidden inside vehicle parts, the police said in a statement on Wednesday. A gang of 12 Asians were arrested from different parts of the country.
According to the police, the drugs hidden inside secret cavities of vehicle parts included 500,000 Captagon tablets.
Colonel Taher Gharib Al Dhahiri, Director of the Drug Control Department, said the remarkable success of the operation was achieved over months of monitoring and follow-up that resulted in a preemptive strike that busted the gang's operation.
