Oman and France held their first strategic dialogue round in Paris today. Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy led the Omani delegation. Secretary General Martin Prince led the French diplomatic team.
Deepening the Strategic Partnership
Both sides emphasized their deep strategic partnership across various critical fields. Officials reviewed bilateral cooperation in economics, investment, and energy security. They also discussed expanding joint efforts in culture and education.
Leaders want to push these partnerships toward more advanced levels.
Discussing Regional Security and Diplomacy
The diplomatic teams exchanged views on major regional and international issues. They specifically discussed the current Gulf region crisis and its repercussions.
Both sides stressed that diplomacy offers the best sustainable solution. They urged all concerned parties to return to the negotiating table immediately.
Signing New Employment Agreements
The two governments also signed a new labor agreement today. This important deal grants work permits to spouses of official employees. Sheikh Khalifa and Secretary General Prince proudly signed this document together.
Key Diplomats in Attendance
Several key ambassadors attended this important strategic dialogue session. Omani Ambassadors Munther bin Mahfoudh Al-Manthari and Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Araimi participated. French Ambassador to Oman Nabil Hajlaoui also joined the productive meeting.
