Oman's aviation sector achieved massive success in 2025. Oman Air, SalamAir, and Oman Airports reported incredible financial results today. These strong numbers signal a bright new era for national travel.
Oman Air Makes Financial History
Oman Air posted its first positive financial result in 15 years. The national carrier achieved an impressive RO 3.2 million EBITDA. The airline also reduced its massive bank debt by RO 27 million. This crucial debt reduction marks the first decline since 2009.
Oman Air carried 5.8 million passengers during the year. The airline successfully filled 82 percent of its available seats. Direct travel demand surged by 34 percent year-over-year. This massive travel boost greatly supports local tourism growth.
Expanding the National Network
Oman Air successfully launched several new direct flight routes. Planes now fly directly to Amsterdam, Baghdad, Copenhagen, and Taif. The airline also started a new Salalah to Moscow service.
The carrier currently flies 33 aircraft to 45 global destinations. Executives plan to add five exciting new destinations in 2026. They also aim to expand the fleet to 39 aircraft by 2029.
Oman Airports Celebrate Success
Oman Airports handled 15.2 million busy passengers last year. Air cargo volumes also rose by a solid four percent. These impressive numbers reflect much stronger global trade and travel activity.
The Airports Council International recognized Muscat and Salalah airports recently. Both locations proudly won prestigious Airport Service Quality awards for excellence.
SalamAir Achieves Record Revenues
SalamAir generated around RO 137 million in revenue during 2025. The budget airline transported 3.4 million passengers across 40 destinations. Pilots operated more than 22,000 flights with great efficiency. The airline maintained an impressive 83 percent on-time performance rate.
Looking Toward the Future
SalamAir plans to enter several exciting new global markets soon. New upcoming destinations include Port Sudan, Nairobi, Kigali, Vienna, and Medan. The airline wants to operate 25 aircraft by 2028.
All three aviation entities align perfectly with Oman Vision 2040. Their joint strategy will build a much stronger regional aviation ecosystem.
