Over 3,000 kilos of fish seized in Oman

Muscat: More than 3,000 kg of Al-Sharkha fish have been confiscated for illegal fishing.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources said: "The confiscation of 3, 450 kilograms of Al-Sharkha fish that was caught outside season. The legal procedures against the violators are being completed."

"The Ministry calls on everyone to abide by the law of marine fishing and protect the live aquatic wealth and not to catch Al-Sharkha outside the fishing season, which is a national wealth that must be preserved," the statement added.
