COVID-19: MoI launches campaign to educate community

The Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the Community Police Department, has launched a new campaign to educate the community about the prevention of COVID-19 infection.

The department’s campaign comes as part of the ongoing efforts made by the relevant authorities to preserve the safety and health of the population and reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

The drive is organised in collaboration with the Qatar Red Crescent Society volunteers. About the goals of the campaign, Colonel Hussein Aman Al Ali, Assistant Director of the Community Police Department, said that the campaign is within the framework of the efforts exerted by the Ministry to enhance reassurance in the hearts of citizens and residents of the country.

He pointed out that the campaign aims to emphasise everyone the need to adhere to the procedures stipulated in the decisions issued by the competent authorities in the country.

The campaign is continuing to cover all areas and cities of Qatar with the participation of volunteers from the Qatari Red Crescent Society, wishing more commitment from people to stay at homes during this period until the nation overcomes the crisis, he said.

Lt. Col. Nayef Mohammad Al Mannai, Head of Awareness Department in the Community Police Department, explained that the campaign is one of the efforts made by the Ministry to address COVID-19 and protect members of the community from infection.

The campaign is spreading awareness by using loudspeakers fixed on patrols participating in the campaign asking people to adhere to the preventive guidelines that must be followed in order to protect themselves and others from the risk of the virus.

Al Mannai added that the campaign was very welcomed by people.
