Saudi Arabia released a Qatari citizen after 1 year of detention on Friday, keeping three others in custody, according to middleeastmonitor.
The National Qatari Committee for Human Rights confirmed that the Qatari resident released was Ahmad Khalid Miqbel, Al Khaleej Online reported.
Ali Al-Murri, Head of the committee, twitted,
“We received the reports of releasing the Qatari citizen, who was arbitrarily detained by Saudi authorities, happily. We contacted his family and they confirmed his release.”
Miqbel was one of four Qatari citizens illegally detained in June 2017, when the Saudi, Bahraini, Emirati and Egyptian blockade was first imposed on Qatar.
