Umm Slal Mohamed Interchange opened to traffic

Umm Slal Mohamed Interchange was opened to traffic by Ashghal. The new intersection serves as a key access point linking the neighbouring local areas, located east and west of Al Shamal Road.

The interchange consists of two separate levels, including a dual main bridge with two lanes in each direction and an additional lane for turning towards the ramps, and two light signals.

The junction also features four on-and- off ramps – the northern ramps which were opened yesterday while the southern ramps are still underway.

The intersection is a key connection for the residents in the vital and jammed neighbourhood of Umm Salal Mohamed.

The junction will reduce congestion and cut travel times as it will provide smooth flowing traffic from and into Al Shamal Road, skipping the pernnial jam at Al Kheesa Interchange and allowing for better access between the service roads and the North Road

Umm Salal Mohamed is the third construction opened by Ashghal as part of the North Road Corridor Enhancement Project in the last fortnight.

Ashghal has delivered both Izghawa Interchange and the bridge linking Al Huwaila road to the North Road on October 22. Also, the 5 km Al Khor Link Road (from Al Shamal Road to Ras Laffan Roundabout at Al Khor) was opened to traffic after being upgraded into dual three lane road.
