A Massive Clash Of Extreme Weather
Saudi Arabia faces a truly terrifying combination of extreme weather events today. The National Centre for Meteorology issued several massive red weather alerts on Thursday. Highly aggressive thunderstorms currently threaten multiple major regions across the vast Kingdom. Meteorologists warn these brutal downpours will likely trigger devastating local flash floods. The terrifying storms bring heavy hail and massive winds that severely reduce visibility. The sudden weather shift creates incredibly dangerous driving conditions for local citizens.
Targeting The Holy Cities And Beyond
The severe red alerts specifically target Taif, Al Kamil, and areas surrounding Mecca. Authorities urge all residents to remain indoors and aggressively avoid flooded valleys. The government also issued orange alerts for moderate, dangerous rain across the Madinah region. Yellow alerts warn of blowing dust and sand storms hitting Jeddah and coastal areas. Rain-bearing thunderclouds fiercely threaten the Northern Borders and the Eastern Province today. Thick fog will dangerously obscure coastal highways during the early morning hours.
Scorching Heat Follows The Brutal Rain
Despite the massive storms, terrifyingly high temperatures continue to scorch the nation. The holy city of Medina will hit a brutal peak temperature of 47 degrees Celsius. Dammam closely follows with a massive, suffocating high of 46 degrees Celsius today. Riyadh and Buraidah will also bake under an aggressive 45-degree sun. This massive clash of torrential rain and brutal heat heavily strains local infrastructure. The government operates emergency response teams at maximum capacity to protect the public.
