Rotana, a leading hotel management company, highlighted its growth strategy at Arabian Travel Market 2026. The hospitality group currently has forty new properties and 8,334 keys under development. Saudi Arabia represents a significant quarter of the group’s upcoming development pipeline. Ten properties are planned across Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Hail, Abha, and Al Baha. This approach balances established gateway cities with emerging destinations supported by domestic demand.
Focusing On Purposeful Hospitality Growth
Philip Barnes, Chief Executive Officer of Rotana, discussed the company's focused progress. He emphasized opening new properties in core markets while entering new hospitality segments. The company recently ventured into branded residences and beautiful mountain hospitality destinations. Barnes stated that every new addition must strengthen the overall portfolio and serve owners. The brand remains committed to delivering the consistent experience guests expect from Rotana.
In the UAE, Bloom Arjaan by Rotana opened in August 2026. This property offers 217 contemporary serviced apartments for short and extended stays. It is conveniently located near the cultural and leisure attractions on Saadiyat Island. Rotana is also preparing to open Rotana Ras Al Khaimah – The Mangroves soon. The 258-key hotel will offer family-friendly accommodation and beautiful views of the Arabian Gulf.
Expanding Into New International Segments
In Saudi Arabia, Rotana successfully opened Edge Riyadh – Al Rabie earlier in 2026. The group also signed an agreement for The Residences by Rotana in Makkah. Egypt remains an important market within Rotana’s broader regional growth plans. Beyond core markets, Rotana signed its first ski resort in Gudauri, Georgia. The dual-property resort will offer approximately 400 keys and direct mountain access.
Management agreements remain at the heart of Rotana’s asset-light business growth model. The group is also strengthening guest services through the Rotana DISCOVERY loyalty program. A new Rotana Chat AI provides helpful 24/7 assistance for digital guests. These initiatives support stronger direct engagement and a more seamless guest journey. The group remains focused on delivering the warmth behind its promise of 'Treasured Time'.
