Popovich married Mary Barth, the ex-wife of Mike Budenholzer, in Texas.

Legendary NBA figure Gregg Popovich has officially tied the knot again. He married Mary Barth Budenholzer in a private ceremony on September 16. The wedding took place in Texas, according to a recently obtained marriage license. Mary is the former wife of Popovich's longtime assistant coach, Mike Budenholzer.

Mary Ellen Barth largely stays away from the intense public spotlight. She was a highly supportive partner to Budenholzer during their long marriage. They share four children and she occasionally featured in Spurs championship celebrations. Budenholzer worked closely under Popovich at the Spurs from 1996 to 2013.

Budenholzer helped the San Antonio team win multiple prestigious NBA championships.

He later became a successful head coach for Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Phoenix. He even won the 2021 championship with the Milwaukee Bucks. Budenholzer and Mary officially divorced back in 2016 after years together. The 77-year-old Popovich was previously married to Erin Popovich for 42 years.

Erin tragically passed away in April 2018 after battling a long illness. Popovich recently stepped down as Spurs head coach after 29 historic seasons. He continues to serve as the franchise’s president of basketball operations.
