The country's two biggest e-commerce players Flipkart and Amazon India are all set for the third round of festive sales. The sales, set to start on the weekend, are expected to be as big as the first-round. The duo are said to have grossed record sales during the past two rounds, with buyers showing little signs of shopping fatigue.

Newdates: Flipkart (October 14-17); Amazon (October 14-18)

The new round of sales on both Amazon and Flipkart start on October 14. While Flipkart will be holding 4-day sale (October 14 to 17), it will be five-day sale on Amazon (October 14-18).

Recordedcombined sales of about $450 million

Both Flipkart and Amazon India reportedly recorded combined sales of about $450 million during the recently-concluded second leg of the festive sales. According to a report in The Economic Times (ET), Flipkart is likely to have seen a GMV of between $700 million and $800 million during its Big Billion Day sale in September.

Amazonand Flipkart post record sales this year

The entire festive month is likely to be almost double of that of last year for the two big e-commerce players. The momentum is expected to continue till the upcoming pre-Diwali sales which starts on October 14. Industry players told The Economic Times that while the second round of sales was much smaller than the first round, it grew 200% from the second round of sales during 2016.

Flipkartlikely to have an edge

From the initial rounds, Flipkart reportedly has taken a lead over Amazon, thanks to smartphone sales.

Expectdiscounts on TVs and smartphones in the coming sale

Amazon is likely to go aggressive on both smartphones and televisions in the coming sale. Both Flipkart and Amazon are reported to be stocking up their inventory and lining up discounts and deals quite similar to their flagship sales in September.

iPhonesmay dominate smartphone sales on Amazon India

According to a report in The Economic Times, Amazon has asked its sellers to stock up over two lakh smartphones, one-fourth of which would be Apple's iPhones. The e-tailer is also said to be building up inventory of TVs and appliances to the same scale as during the first Great Indian Festival sale.

Flipkartset to match up prices on Amazon

Usually subsequent sales on Flipkart have not been as big as the discounts and deals it offers in the first round of Big Billion Day sale. But this year, the e-tailer is reportedly said to be gearing up to match up prices and stocking up on inventory.

​Flipkart sale to offer up to 70% off on TVs and home appliances

Flipkart sale on electronics and home appliances is already live. The e-tailer is claiming to offer up to 70% off on TVs and other home appliances. Those users who pay via HDFC Bank credit and debit cards will get 10% 'instant discount'. Payments made via PhonePe will get 20 percent cashback.
