Dubai-based expat threatens to kill Kerala chief minister, loses job

A Dubai-based expat on Tuesday threatened to kill Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and was sacked by his employer the following day.

Krishnakumar S.N. Nair, a supporter of Indian right-wing group Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, in a Facebook video said he will soon travel to Kerala to carry out the act.

Krishnakumar used to work as a senior rigging supervisor at Abu Dhabi-based Target Engineering Construction Company. However, he has been terminated with immediate effect on Wednesday for the provoking Facebook post in an inebriated condition at the company accommodation.

He will be flying to Kerala as soon as all formalities are over.

"I have lost my job. I am ready to face any action. I remain RSS supporter. I seek forgiveness from Pinarayi Vijayan and all politicians," he said on Wednesday.

Such threats against communist leader Vijayan aren't new as last year an RSS leader had announced a bounty of Rs1 crore for killing the Kerala chief minister.

Excerpts from the first video

Krishnakumar, in the nearly four-minute Facebook Live video on Tuesday night, had said: "I am a former RSS worker. I am going to be active again. I am resigning my job here and returning to Kerala. I am staying in Dubai. I will be in Kerala for 2-3 days with an aim to kill. It is time to sharpen old knives. I am least bothered how my life is going to end. If we decide to kill a person then we need to finish the job," he said.

Taking about the reason behind his decision, Krishnakumar noted there was no action taken by Kerala police for derogatory remarks made recently by a Kerala television artiste against a state BJP woman leader. Sabumon Abdusamad in his Facebook post had made sexually inappropriate remarks against Lasitha Palakkal. Earlier this week, she had said that despite complaint registered at police station in Kannur no action was taken. Krishnakumar added that he would rape Abdusamad's family to teach him a lesson.

Later in the video, Krishnakumar hurled abuses at Vijayan and commented about his caste.

"Toddy tapper must do that job only and shouldn't enter such a field (of politics). I am coming to Kerala and will beat you inside your home. I am here (in Dubai) to make enough money for that. I earn Rs2 lakh as senior rig supervisor," he said.

Krishnakumar urged all Hindu organisations to support him in his mission.
