Dubai Municipality Expands Winter Camping At Al Ruwayyah With Caravan Plots

A Bigger Desert Experience

Dubai Municipality just officially opened registration for the upcoming winter camping season. The camping zone at Al Ruwayyah is now significantly larger. The municipality increased the site capacity by 120 percent. The location now holds 600 designated camping plots. The season runs from November 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027.

New Caravan And Rental Options

Campers have several new booking options this year. Standard 400-square-metre plots and massive 800-square-metre double plots are available. The municipality also introduced 50 dedicated plots specifically for caravans. Additionally, visitors can book one of 10 fully equipped daily rental camps. These are perfect for tourists who do not own their own gear.

A Community Winter Hub

Al Ruwayyah is transforming into an active community destination. The municipality designated 10 specific spaces for winter events and seasonal markets. Local entrepreneurs can launch food and beverage services directly in the camp. Small businesses will also provide recreational desert activities for families. Bader Anwahi noted this is a major step in developing an integrated winter destination.

How To Book A Plot

UAE nationals can register for their plots entirely online. They must use the official wintercamp.dm.gov.ae website or the DubaiNow app. Seasonal reservations last between three and six months. Campers must follow strict regulations regarding temporary fencing and family usage. Plan your perfect winter weekend in the UAE desert right now.
