A Deadly Crash On The Journey Home From Al Ain
A 20-year-old Emirati university student from Ras Al Khaimah lost her life on Friday after a fuel tanker collided with the car she was riding in on Al Dhaid Road. The young woman and her female classmate were traveling home for the weekend from the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain when the crash occurred. According to the bereaved family, a heavy tanker carrying petroleum products veered into their lane and struck the passenger side of the vehicle. The 20-year-old passenger died immediately at the scene of the collision from her severe injuries. Emergency responders rushed the female classmate who was driving the car to a nearby hospital, where doctors treated her for a fractured hand and listed her in stable condition.
A Selfless Act Of Friendship Before The Journey
Relatives shared the heartbreaking detail that the deceased student had not originally planned to travel in a private car that afternoon. Normally, she commuted between the Al Ain campus and her family home in Ras Al Khaimah aboard a shared minibus alongside four female classmates. However, another friend who owned a private vehicle invited the group to ride home with her instead. When the other students kept their original travel plans, the 20-year-old agreed to ride in the car specifically so her friend would not have to drive the long highway route alone. That thoughtful gesture of friendship tragically ended in the fatal collision along Al Dhaid Road.
Mourners Remember Her Kindness And Generosity
Grief swept through the student's neighborhood in Ras Al Khaimah and across the UAE University campus as news of the tragedy spread. Friends and classmates who knew the young woman from childhood through university remembered her for her gentle spirit, generosity, and readiness to help others. Peers noted that she never engaged in arguments or disputes, leaving a lasting impression of warmth and compassion on everyone she met. Large crowds of mourners gathered after Friday prayers to perform funeral prayers before laying her to rest at Al Oreibi Cemetery in Ras Al Khaimah.
