Is the Queen doing Dubai’s 3-finger salute?

Team Godolphin’s victory at the Epsom Derby earlier this week was celebrated by all, as messages and memes made the rounds on social media.

But one photo of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, hands down, was the most original and creative one to go viral.

The UK Ambassador to the UAE Philip Parham tweeted a photo of Shaikh Mohammad and Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II watching the English Derby at Epsom Downs.

The Photoshopped image shows Queen Elizabeth gesturing the three-finger salute, which was created by Shaikh Mohammad and ultimately, became his signature trademark.

The hand sign shows the letters 'W' for Win, 'V' for Victory and 'L' for Love.

The photo was also accompanied with the caption: "A picture is worth a thousand words… the Queen and her distinguished guest Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid. British-Emirati relations derived their strength from the historical ties between the two nations and between two great leaderships since the era of the late Shaikh Zayed.”

Masar, a horse that was bred by Godolphin, secure a historic first victory in Britain’s most prestigious and richest flat race.

The reaction of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, was captured on camera at the precise moment when the stunning victory was announced.
