Pakistani housewife, Indian expat win $1m in Dubai Duty Free draw

A Pakistani and an Indian national who bought their tickets online have become the latest $1 million winner in Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw held on Tuesday at Concourse D in Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport.

 

Lamia Mustafa, a 34 year old housewife from Karachi, Pakistan bought her second Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire ticket online in Series 270 with ticket number 4912 - a number based on her husband's birthdate.

A regular participant to Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire, Mustafa couldn't believe her luck and commented, "I never lose hope, I know that one day I will win and this is the day! Thank you Dubai Duty Free for this awesome win!"

Arun Bhaskaran Pillai, a 31 year old Indian national from Sharjah, also bought his lucky ticket online in Series 271 with ticket number 1882. A material controller for Lamprell Energy Ltd in Sharjah, will be splitting the prize with his four other friends, with one living in the UAE while the other three in Kerala, India, who shared the ticket cost.

Commenting on his win, "This is unbelievable! I never thought this can happen to me but then it does. I can't wait to share this good news to my friends!"

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw three more winners were announced in the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Promotion.

Other prize winners

Frederick Bendle, a 62 year old British national based in Dubai, won a Porsche Panamera 4 (Night Blue Metallic) in Series 1684 with ticket number 0094.

Bendle, who works as CEO for Glencore Company has been buying a ticket for the past 18 years and couldn't believe that his perseverance has finally paid off.

"I delighted to finally win after a long time of participating in Dubai Duty Free promotions. Thank you Dubai Duty Free."

Another car winner was A.R. Aljafary, a 70 year old Saudi Arabian national from Dammam, won the BMW 750 Li Luxury (Magellan Grey) in Series 1685 with ticket number 0036.

Aljafary, is a regular online ticket buyer for 15 years now.

"I never thought this day will finally come. Thank you Dubai Duty Free!"

Krishna Naidoo, a 63 year old Australian national, won the stylish BMW R 1200 GS Exclusive Edition motorbike in Series 334 with ticket number 0020. An owner of a construction company in Queensland, bought his first ever ticket to Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Promotion on his way back from London.

Commenting on his win, "I am thrilled to have won a luxury motorbike with my first ever ticket in the Dubai Duty Free promotion. This is the first time I've won anything in my life and I would like to thank Dubai Duty Free for making that happened."
