UAE Announces Eid Al Adha Paid Holidays

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources announced a four-day paid holiday for private sector employees today. The long break celebrates Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha. The holiday runs from Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, May 29, 2026.

Private sector workers will resume normal operations on Monday, June 1. This announcement provides a wonderful opportunity for families to gather and celebrate.

Public Sector and Moon Sighting Details

Federal government employees will enjoy a five-day paid break starting Monday, May 25. Public sector workers will also resume their regular duties on Monday, June 1.

The national moon-sighting committee officially confirmed the start of Dhu Al Hijjah on Sunday night. They utilized advanced astronomy technologies to verify the crescent moon. Accordingly, Monday, May 18, marked the first day of Dhu Al Hijjah in the UAE.

Extended Holidays for Schools

Students across the country will enjoy an extended holiday up to nine days. The Ministry of Education confirmed the midterm break runs from May 25 to May 29.

Dubai private schools will follow this exact schedule. Sharjah schools are set for up to ten days of rest including the weekend. Families can plan exciting travel or local outings during this long holiday period.
