UAE President orders release of 935 prisoners ahead of Ramadan

His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE has ordered the release of 935 prisoners who have been sentenced in various cases ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

 

The release of prisoners comes within the framework of President's keenness to give them an opportunity to start a new life and alleviate the suffering of their families.

The moon-sighting committee in UAE will meet after the Maghrib prayer on Tuesday, May 15, in Abu Dhabi. The announcement of the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan will be made shortly afterwards.
