Video: Sheikh Mohammed credits lucky daughter for Derby win

On the heels of the first Derby win for Godolphin, by Masar, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was quoted regarding the win, giving credit for their winning fortunes to his daughter.

"My daughter is here today, she brought the luck," said Sheikh Mohammed.

"Yes it was really amazing!" said Sheikha Jalila bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

"This is where the dream of Godolphin all started. Charley Applebee has won you a Godolphin Derby," the presenter from ITV said.

"Thank you very much, yes, it is not easy to win the Derby. we are pleased to be here today. "He's a very good trainer, and the horse came from Dubai," Sheikh Mohammed said when asked to comment on Charlie Appleby, one of the horse's trainers.

"Absolutely amazing, so happy for Sheikh Mohammed, so deserved for everyone in the team who's worked so hard for this," said Princess Haya bint Al Hussein.

In an earlier video posted on his Instagram page, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, captures the ecstatic moment when the winning horse crossed the finish line.
