The UAE has announced a decrease in petrol prices for the month of July 2026, giving motorists a much-needed break after four months of price hikes. Effective from 1 July 2026, the rolling back of prices came after global oil rates cooled off every month of June, buoying expectations that local diesel costs would slide.
Those prices had climbed above 60% since the start of hostilities in the Middle East in late February before this drop. The cheaper fuel should lower transport costs and provide a little household budget relief.
New UAE Fuel Prices for July 2026
The updated fuel prices are:
Super 98: Dh3.40 per litre (down from Dh3.95)
Special 95: Dh3.29 per litre (down from Dh3.83)
E-Plus 91: Dh3.21 per litre (down from Dh3.76)
Diesel: Dh3.60 per litre (down from Dh4.33)
The reduction follows a steady decline in international crude oil prices during June, which directly influenced local retail fuel rates.
Relief for Motorists and Households
We know that households spend vastly inflated sums on fuel every month—affecting how much they pay in order to get around and live their lives. It is hoped that the July price cut will result in savings for motorists on fuel costs, and relieve some pressure on family budgets.
It also follows the resulting exit from both OPEC and OPEC+ by the UAE — effective 1 May 2026, bringing an end to a membership lasting over six decades. This allows the country to ramp up oil production in due time — after which it depends on how fast additional capacity will be deployed.
