Trump’s Border Wall Slowly Takes Shape, Prototypes Ordered

President Donald Trump’s plan for a border wall between the USA and Mexico seems to be inching closer to becoming a reality as the US Customs and Border Protection agency ordered prototypes for the wall. The contracts were awarded to four companies who have been directed to build reinforced concrete prototypes which could be up to nine meters tall, as announced by Ronald Vitiello, Acting CBP Deputy Commissioner.

The most important feature of these walls is that they should come with an “anti-climb” feature to prevent illegal immigrants from crossing over to the United States.

Congress is said to be having reservations about the budget as it fears that it might not be able to come up with the $1.8 billion (Dh6.6 billion) by October 1st. The entire project is said to cost $20 billion and will cover a distance of 3,200 kilometers.

Trump stressed on the fact that he expects the Congress to come up with the funds to build the border wall and has threatened that he will shut down the government if Congress fails to give him the funds to build the wall.
