Etihad Airways will soon open up its lounges to economy classes and will start charging for chauffeur services.
The airline said it has modified its chauffeur service, which was previously offered as complimentary, following a review of usage by premium guests across all major markets.

The changes reflect the company’s efforts to improve its value proposition for guests, according to Mohammad Al Bulooki, executive vice president commercial for Etihad Airways.
“This change is being put in place as the airline looks to evolve its product proposition while continuing to match individual customer requirements,” Al Bulooki said in a press release.
Under the amendment, complimentary chauffeur service will be replaced with a paid option, except for the airline’s Abu Dhabi site, starting July 3.
“Many customers prefer to make their own ground transportation arrangements. The decision to change its offering has been taken to provide increased choice and to ensure fares remain as low and as competitive as possible, while retaining best-in-class service for all guests, in all cabins,” Al Bulooki said in the press release.
Meanwhile, economy passengers may access the business class lounges in Abu Dhabi, London, Manchester, Dublin, Paris, Washington D.C., New York, Sydney, Melbourne, and Los Angeles for a minimum fee of Dh370.
“Premium class guests can enjoy free access to Etihad Airways’ collection of outstanding lounges. By offering paid access to Economy guests, these signature lounges can now be enjoyed by all who desire to experience our award-winning facilities,” Al Bulooki said.
The airline also launched the “Neighbor-Free Seat” option in Economy Class passengers to offer increased space, comfort and privacy to passengers.
