A couple who arrived at their gate too late to board a flight in Beijing fought their way past airport personnel and ran onto the airport apron, the China Daily reports.
The flight crew would not let the couple aboard the Air China plane to Shanghai, so the woman said she would remain on the ground below the aircraft until she was allowed on.
Authorities eventually placed her in a police car after delaying the flight by 20 minutes.
Airport police put the woman and her husband in detention for five days.
